Club del Buttafuoco Storico

In Valle Versa, just a few meters from the historic headquarters of the Club on the site where the ancient castle of Vigalone once stood, you will find the new Casa del Buttafuoco. It is a modern wine bar with a wine shop where, in addition to purchasing Buttafuoco Storico and other local wines, visitors can learn everything about these wines.

Here, besides buying bottles to take away, all the historic vineyards and the other local wines are available by the glass, for a total of about 40 wines by the glass.

To accompany the wines, you can order boards of cured meats and cheeses from the Pavia and Lombardy traditions.

Tasting packages are also available, offering itineraries through the historic vineyards or through the DOC wines of the Oltrepò Pavese.

“Buttafuoco I Vignaioli del Buttafuoco Storico” is a wine that tells the successful story of a collaboration among winemakers who came together in a Consortium in 1996 to produce a noble and important wine, born in the Oltrepò Pavese area in the so-called “Sperone di Stradella.”

The vineyards selected by the Consortium’s agronomists are designated as Vigna Storica, and only the finest expressions of Buttafuoco from these vineyards are chosen to become part of the cuvée.

On the nose, it offers predominant aromas of red berries and spices. On the palate, it is powerful, warm, and highly expressive. It is a blend of Barbera, Croatina, Ughetta di Canneto, and Uva Rara.
