About Winery and Wines

Historically, the Chaveau family already owned vineyards since the 19th century but the activity of mixed farming remained dominant. When Benoit Chaveau took over his parents’ vineyards in 1995 and his grandparents’ vineyards in 1997, Domaine Chauveau became exclusively a wine-producing estate. Benoit dedicates herself to the cultivation of the vine and the winemaking. His wife Emmanuelle, who joined him a few years later, manages the administrative and commercial side. The year 2021 marks the beginning of a new generation of the estate with the arrival of their daughter, Lise, an agricultural engineer and oenologist. Together, they developed international marketing and expanded the estate until Domaine Chaveau now has more than 28 hectares, including 26 ha in Pouilly Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, and 2 ha in Coteaux du Giennois.

This 28-hectare estate is located in central France, on the banks of the Loire. As the estate's vineyards lie on different types of soil (marl, limestone and flint clay), Domaine Chaveau produces a range of cuvees characteristic of the terroir, with constant care about quality expressed by meticulous monitoring of the wines and responsible viticulture.

Domaine Chaveau's products are marketed under the Benoit Chauveau brand and include Pouilly-Fumé, Pouilly-sur-Loire, Coteaux du Giennois, and Sancerre.
