About Winery and Wines

Doniene Gorrondona Txakolina is the evolution from the traditional farm to a modern winery where the txakoli is produced in a completely professional manner. Placed in Bakio, the vineyards surrounding it are a warranty for the good quality of our raw material.

We're located in the coastal town of Bakio, a locality considered as the birthplace of the txakolina wine in Bizkaia. Its geographic situation, on the shore of the Bay of Biscay, but at the same time protected from it by south-facing hill-sides, has provided to the grape from these vineyards, mainly hondarrabi zuri and hondarrabi beltza, a pronounced personality throughout the years. Due to the climatology and the orography of the area, an additional effort is required to maintain our vineyards, so that jobs such as pruning and tying-up, bunch thinning and harvesting have to be carried out by hand.
