About Winery and Wines

Azienda Agricola Edoardo Patrone is a young company founded by Edoardo Patrone, born in Domodossola, Upper Piedmont.

Edoardo, a lifelong lover of all things wine, after graduating in "Viticulture and Enology" from the University of Turin, worked for a while in Barolo, Spain, and then Australia. During these years of working away from home, he has always had a strong desire to return home to his mountains in the Ossola Valley to recover long abandoned vineyards and continue the area's century-old winemaking tradition.

In 2016, Edoardo left his job in Australia, returned to Domodossola, and opened the winery. In addition to the difficulties an entrepreneur usually faces, Edoardo found other challenges such as climate change that makes viticulture more unpredictable, along with the decrease of vineyards in the area. In 2017, Edward met, Stella Tâm Vũ - a Vietnamese student who was pursuing a degree in Switzerland. They started the first chapter after getting married in the same year with a team of young winemakers. producing the first vintage with the "Be Natural" concept, NO to chemical abuse, NO to pesticides, and NO to herbicides.

By following this thinking, which includes the use of natural fertilizers, no chemical abuse, no pesticides, and no herbicides, we hope to contribute a little to the fight against climate change.

Since 2016, great strides have been made. started from 0.3 hectares and thanks to the considerable support of many people, by the end of 2021, we have recovered over 28 micro vineyards, totaling about 5 hectares of vineyards in the Ossola Valley. Most of the vineyards are between 30 and 100 years old some of which are still free-standing and are located at an altitude between 450 and 650 mslm. It is a pleasure to continue the tradition of growing vines and making wine at home in the northernmost area of the Upper Piedmont.
