About Winery and Wines
Our story begins in 1950, in the hills of Barberino Val d’Elsa, Tuscany, where a family cultivated vineyards with passion, yet never bottled their own wine. That changed two years ago, when a new chapter began.
Behind the scenes is Francesca Vecchietti Poltri, a 24-year-old woman and winemaker from the same family, who brought fresh energy and vision to the estate. With a deep respect for the past and a bold spirit for the future, she started bottling wines that reflect not just the land, but the personality of their maker and the vibrancy of youth.
At Fattoria Vecchia Rocca, we craft IGT wines that are unafraid to be different, wines that tell the story of our unique terroir, the character of the people behind them, and the freedom to step away from tradition.
Rooted in a noble Florentine lineage, the Vecchietti family once worked closely with the Medici. That legacy still lives in every vine, every harvest, and every bottle, reimagined through a new generation.
This is more than wine. This is identity, history, and renewal — one bottle at a time.
At Fattoria Vecchia Rocca, our wines are the true expression of our land and our passion.
We grow a range of classic and unique grape varieties: Sangiovese, Merlot, Trebbiano, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Manseng. From these, we create five distinctive wines.
We offer two pure Sangiovese wines, one of which is aged in terracotta amphora for added complexity. Our Trebbiano, vinified and aged in amphora, highlights the purity of this grape. The Rosé, a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot, is fresh and vibrant, while the pure Cabernet Sauvignon is bold and elegant.
Each wine is made with care and respect for both tradition and the energy of a new generation, reflecting the essence of Tuscany in every bottle.
