Fèlsina is a historic winery in Tuscany, founded in 1966 by Domenico Poggiali Fèlsina during a challenging period for Italian viticulture. With a focus on quality and innovation, Domenico invested in a young, passionate team that blended tradition with modern business strategies. The entry of Giuseppe Mazzocolin in the 1970s marked a turning point, bringing commercial growth and international recognition. Under the guidance of Domenico, Giuseppe, and later Giovanni Poggiali, Fèlsina has grown into a symbol of Tuscan excellence, known for its dedication to craftsmanship and cultural respect.
About the Wines
Fèlsina's wines are a true expression of the Chianti Classico region, known for their elegance, structure, and deep connection to the land. The winery produces iconic wines such as Fontalloro and Rancia, which debuted in 1983 and have since become benchmarks in the industry. Each wine is crafted with meticulous care, reflecting the unique terroir of the vineyards, which have expanded to over forty hectares. The collaboration with renowned oenologist Franco Bernabei has helped shape Fèlsina's identity, resulting in wines that are celebrated for their consistency, quality, and reflection of Tuscan heritage.

Wine Tasting and Tour
Beautiful winery, with a disappointing wine tasting
Unfortunately, it must be said that during the wine tasting, someone poured the wines who didn't seem to know an awful lot about wines themselves, and products were served that the locals don't drink or that sell poorly.
Only upon explicit request did we get the products for which the winery is also known.
So this tour is not recommended for wine connoisseurs.
One could, for example, offer two different wine tours.
One with the standard products and one with somewhat more exclusive and finer wines, which is then also made for the appropriate audience.

Discovery
The welcome was very warm.
The tour began with the discovery of the different cellars and the explanations were very interesting and complete.
Afterwards, we had a tasting of dishes prepared by Chef Marco which were perfectly paired with the different wines and the estate's different organic olive oils.
The service was impeccable and we had an excellent time.
We highly recommend this experience to other travelers.
