We were out for an afternoon ride...

We were out for an afternoon ride and came across these vineyards! There is a coffee shop, a small shop and plants too! We had a cup of tea and a square of the most delicious cake I'd ever tasted! It was called Red Velvet - it was a raspberry sponge with proper cream cheese topping - it was absolutely Devine! We sat out side and enjoyed just being in the quiet and peaceful countryside, listening to the birds and watching a mother duck and her babies! We then walked round the vineyard which was very kept and full of vines of various ages! Delightful!

About Winery and Wines

Giffords Hall is a family owned vineyard planted on the site of an ancient glacial riverbed near Long Melford in Suffolk. Our sandy/clay soil produces quality grapes, high in natural sugars and acids, that lend themselves particularly well to both sparkling and dry, aromatic still wines. Our wines have a delicate floral character very typical of the region. We make our wines from the best years only and have selected the best winemakers for the varieties we grow.

Our sandy/clay soil produces quality grapes, high in natural sugars and acids, that lend themselves particularly well to both sparkling and dry, aromatic still wines. The vineyard was planted around 25 years ago and the vines are now in their prime. Madeleine Angevine, Bacchus, Reichensteiner, Rondo and Pinot Noir all do well here.
