In the classical sense, the word Gramma (from ancient Greek) means letter, script, or word. For us, however, GRAMMA is much more than that: it is the wine of conversation — the wine that opens hearts, inspires stories, and turns every gathering into a long, delightful tasting experience.

Whether we’re talking about the collection featuring labels designed by the master Horațiu Mălăele, the world’s first wine collection wrapped in Romanian NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), or the innovative “Self-Isolation Pack”, the GRAMMA brand continues its mission to inspire creativity and offer a truly unique experience to wine enthusiasts.

REGION: Romania – Moldavian Hills – DOC Iași – Vișan Vineyard

Located just 8 km from the center of one of Romania’s most important cultural cities — Iași, the GRAMMA winery offers its guests authentic, truly memorable experiences. Situated at the northern limit of viable vine cultivation, in a cool climate, the vineyards give GRAMMA wines their distinctive freshness and complexity, shaping a personality that is unmistakably their own.

VINEYARD – Urban Vineyard
Only 15 minutes from downtown Iași, on one of the city’s seven hills, lie our vineyards. We cultivate Sauvignon Blanc, Busuioacă de Bohotin, Aligoté, Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Fetească Neagră, and Merlot across approximately 20 hectares of vines that make up our vineyard.

Of these, 8 hectares are over 60 years old, their roots reaching as deep as 15 meters, allowing them to draw nutrients and minerals from various soil layers — resulting in grapes of remarkable complexity. The remaining vines are young, planted in recent years according to modern viticultural standards.

The personality of GRAMMA wines is defined by the perfect balance between nature, creativity, and technology. Grapes are hand-harvested in crates of no more than 18 kg, a carefully calculated quantity that prevents crushing and oxidation.

The selection belt, destemmer, and pneumatic press are essential tools in our winemaking process, ensuring that every GRAMMA wine meets the highest standards of quality. Controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures, preserving the freshness of aromas, the complexity of taste, and the perfect integration of alcohol within the wine’s body.

Our vineyards bring together a refined selection of both indigenous Romanian varieties: Fetească Albă, Fetească Regală, Busuioacă de Bohotin, Fetească Neagră, and international classics such as Aligoté, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
