About Winery and Wines

Our Vineyard is situated on sandstone slopes approximately 45 – 50 metres above sea level and the vines flourish in their South West facing position. In 2005 Alan and Faye Pratt, with their two sons Gareth and William, planted 200 vines into the well drained sandy loam soil at Lily Farm. The first harvest of Rondo grapes was picked in 2007. Another 200 vines were planted in 2007 and in 2008 a further 950 vines, taking the total number of vines to 1,350 and the vineyard area to exactly one acre. In addition to Rondo 3 other vine varieties were planted, Pinot Noir Précoce another black grape vine, and Bacchus and Seyval Blanc for white grapes. In 2010 we needed a small army of volunteers to help us pick 4 tonnes of grapes. 2013 saw a further planting of another half acre with 600 white grape vines, Reichensteiner, due to yield grapes in 2015 and help increase our range of white wines.
