About Winery and Wines
The adventure of Monte delle Vigne began in 1983 in the unique DOC area of the Colli di Parma, from the desire to produce wine working above all on the indigenous Barbera and Malvasia vines, vinified still with the utmost respect for the surrounding environment. In 2016, the winery's philosophy was realised by launching a sustainable path under the sign of organic farming, which will be completed in 2021 with an entirely organic grape harvest certified by ICEA - Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification.
In Ozzano Taro, the Via Francigena, the ancient route followed by pilgrims on their way to Rome, forms the watershed between the vineyards of Monte delle Vigne: at an altitude of between 200 and 300 metres, there are 40 hectares of vines, laid out according to the most favourable exposure. From the very beginning, the autochthonous vines, aromatic Malvasia di Candia, Barbera and Lambrusco, have been favoured, finding here the perfect union with the terroir, to offer the maximum qualitative expressiveness
