Pian delle Ginestre

Pian delle Ginestre is a historic winery in the heart of Montalcino, owned by Grazia Ciacci Bellocci Natalini, the descendant of the Ciacci family, historic landowners of Montalcino and always appreciated producers of wine and oil. 

The cellar is located along the Sesta road on the "Belvedere" farm at 300 meters above sea level, in the most suitable area for producing Brunello di Montalcino wine. It extends for approximately 75 hectares with 2,850 centuries-old olive trees and 11.5 hectares of vineyards, of which 5.5 are certified for the production of Brunello di Montalcino.

The philosophy of the Tenuta's management is based on the strong bond between the property and its roots and the traditions of the place. But it is the foresight and the continuous search for quality that has led to the investment of many resources, aimed at improving and modernizing the management and production techniques. The estate uses refined materials (selected wood for the barrels), high-quality organic products for the various crops, and cutting-edge machinery.

The vineyards of Pian delle Ginestre are located 300 meters above sea level in the southern part of Montalcino between Castelnuovo dell’Abate and Sant’Angelo in Colle. The age of the vine stocks varies from 20 to 40 years old. The texture of the soil is composed of red soil and clay up to a depth of 3 meters. The root system of the vine remains wet in dry and warm periods. All this guarantees a natural high quality of the grapes.

Even though the estate has the possibility of producing large quantities of bottles, they decided to produce only a few thousand to invest as much as possible in the quality of the product.

With the grapes from their own vineyards, Pian delle Ginestre produces Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino, and Red Tuscany IGT.
