About Winery and Wines
The story behind Prever is as unique and layered as the wines it produces. Pour yourself a glass of Nebbie Autunnali and you’ll taste centuries of heritage, feel the strength of friendship, and appreciate the organic philosophy that ties it all together.
The vineyard lies on the grounds of a historic 17th-century hunting lodge, once belonging to the D’Angennes Royal Family. Yet, the roots of this land go even deeper, back to Roman times, when these hills were considered the cradle of Nebbiolo. The first written record of the grape in the area dates back to 1266, marking its medieval significance.
In the early 2000s, a new chapter began when the second generation of Prever-Chiarle heirs took on the challenge of revitalizing the estate. Giulia, together with her lifelong friend Valentina, brought bold ideas and deep passion to the project. Their vision led to a transformation of the winery, preserving ancient grape varieties while applying innovative, sustainable winemaking techniques.
In 2011, the duo built a new cellar powered entirely by solar energy, reinforcing Prever’s commitment to the environment. Grapes are harvested by hand, pruned shoots are repurposed as organic fertilizers, and water resources are reused and recycled — all in service of reducing ecological impact.
Today, Prever stands as a symbol of heritage reimagined: a place where history, sustainability, and friendship converge in every bottle.
Prever wines represent a refined blend of sophistication, sustainability, and pure enjoyment. These wines have earned several prestigious awards, and their distinctive aromas are sure to captivate both seasoned sommeliers and casual wine lovers alike.
The vineyard area includes both estate-owned and leased plots, where the traditional mixed vineyard composition typical of the region has been carefully preserved.
Prever is deeply committed to environmentally conscious viticulture. Vineyard work is carried out with the utmost respect for nature, using controlled grassing, chopped vine shoots as natural fertilizer, and only copper and sulfur treatments to protect the vines. This respectful and minimal intervention approach allows the wines to fully express the character of their land while minimizing environmental impact.
