About the Winery
Sartarelli is a family-run winery located in Poggio San Marcello, in the heart of the Marche region, within the prestigious Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico area. Founded in the 1970s, the winery is today managed by Donatella Sartarelli and Patrizio Chiacchiarini, together with the next generation, continuing a strong family tradition rooted in passion and dedication to the land.
What makes Sartarelli truly unique is its exclusive focus on a single grape variety: Verdicchio—a rare choice that reflects a deep commitment to expressing the full potential of this iconic varietal.
The estate spans 55 hectares of vineyards and 6 hectares of olive groves, situated at around 350 meters above sea level on the left bank of the Esino River. The vineyards, located in historic crus such as Balciana, Tralivio, and Coste del Molino, benefit from steep slopes, excellent sun exposure, and ideal conditions for producing high-quality grapes.
Sartarelli combines tradition with precision: all vineyard work, from pruning to harvest, is carried out manually, with a strong focus on sustainability and maintaining the natural balance of the vines.
About the Wines
Sartarelli produces a refined range of wines, all made 100% from Verdicchio grapes, showcasing the versatility and elegance of this varietal.
The portfolio includes:
Sartarelli Brut – a sparkling wine made with Verdicchio
Sartarelli Classico DOC – fresh, elegant, and representative of the territory
Tralivio DOC Classico Superiore – more structured and complex
Milletta DOCG Riserva – a refined and age-worthy expression
Balciana DOC Classico Superiore – the flagship wine, rich, powerful, and internationally awarded
Sartarelli Passito DOC – a sweet wine with great intensity and balance
The wines are crafted with a philosophy of simplicity and precision, with fermentation and aging carried out in stainless steel to preserve the purity of aromas and varietal character. Harvesting is done by hand, often in multiple passes, to ensure optimal ripeness for each wine style.
Sartarelli wines are known for their freshness, minerality, structure, and longevity, and represent one of the finest interpretations of Verdicchio, both in Italy and internationally.
