About Winery and Wines
Tenuta Campomaggio finds itself in the Municipality of Radda (Siena), and stands on a hill, on the top of which is located the village of Campomaggio, dominated by an eighteenth-century manor house. The production area of Campomaggio is one of the most renowned areas of Chianti Classico, whose denomination is well-known worldwide. Today the Campomaggio Estate is led by Cecilia and Tommaso Castellani, who brought with them an external vision, a fresh approach, and a new and determined attitude.
The historic vineyards of Tenuta Campomaggio, which were just over 25 hectares, have all been progressively replaced since 1990 when the property was taken over by the Castellani family. Over the years, new vineyards have been purchased, bringing the total vineyard area to 32 hectares. The main grape variety at Tenuta Campomaggio is Sangiovese, which represents 85% of the total production, while the remaining 15% is made up of Canaiolo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
