Amazing historical winery with high quality products...
The relationship with the customers is very personal as you can even order the wine directly from the winery without having to go to store.
It is always possible to see the wine cellar and have an intimate wine tasting with view on the beautiful Monferrato hills.
If you have been there once, Tenuta Tenaglia will come back on your next trip to Italy.

About Winery and Wines
Over the centuries the estate has been expanded and modernized; today it encompasses about 30 hectares of vineyards, of which about 19 in the Alessandria province (in the villages of Serralunga di Crea and Ponzano) and about 11 in the Asti province, in the village of Grazzano Badoglio, bought in 2004 and entered in production in 2006. In 2001 the estate was taken over by the German business family Ehrmann, who decided to buy and modernize this paradise (always with a look to the Italian wine tradition and know-how) to pursue his life long dream: to produce high-quality wines. Mrs. Sabine Ehrmann, first born of Alois, has been managing the wine growing estate since 2004 and as she has been living in Italy for about 20 years she well knows the Italian mentality and way of life. In addition to its wine production the Tenuta sees itself as an international meeting place for art and culture lovers, organising regular events aimed at intensifying the dialogue between the nations and increasing our enjoyment of life. Our slogan “il Vino è Amore” (wine is love), which was painted even in the tasting room of the Tenuta, well reflects Mrs. Ehrmann’s philosophy: passion and love are the only ingredients for a great success both on the Italian and the international market.
The hilly countryside enjoys a particular microclimate; the vineyards are arranged like an amphitheatre and lie in south/south-western direction. The clayey ground, an expert care of the vineyards and a modern cellar technology contribute to set off the natural characteristics of the grapes and to obtain therefore outstanding wines. Above all in the last 10 years big investments have been made both in the vineyards and in the cellar according to a strict quality policy. The production has been reduced to 120.000 bottles per year with yields per plant of less than a kilogram and sometimes even 50% of the grapes are thinned out. As of 2011 we adopt a sustainability protocol called Progetto Magis to protect our vineyards from biotic threats according to the general principals of integrated farming. In our portfolio there are two Piemonte Chardonnays, of which the top wine “Oltre” is both vinified and refined in French barrels (average production: 2.500 bottles per year). 80% of our production is represented by Barbera wines: some of them are vinified in inox tanks whereas some others (i.e. Giorgio Tenaglia, Emozioni and 1930 – Una buona annata or English 1930 – A good vintage) are refined in oak (both big barrels and French barriques). The Monferrato Chiaretto DOC “Edenrose” (70% Barbera grapes and 30% Grignolino grapes), a new Barbera del Monferrato DOC, a Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese, a Piemonte DOC Syrah and three Grappas complete our portfolio.
