Tenute di Badia

Winery in Hills of Lucca

About the Winery

Today, Tenute di Badia spans 12 hectares in the Montecarlo, Lucca region. The oldest vines, including Canaiolo, Sangiovese, and Roussanne, date back to the 1950s, while the youngest were planted in the 1990s.

In 1980, the century-old cellar at Tenute di Badia was restored and modernized with state-of-the-art winemaking and aging equipment. By 1983, the estate released its first bottle of Montecarlo Bianco, marking the beginning of a legacy rooted in both tradition and innovation.

Since then, under the dedication of Romano and now his son Matteo, Tenute di Badia has continuously refined every aspect of its winemaking process—from the vineyard to the bottle—to ensure excellence in every vintage.

About the Wines

Tenute di Badia produces a diverse selection of wines, including Montecarlo Rosso DOC (Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo), Montecarlo Rosso DOC Riserva, Montecarlo Bianco DOC (Trebbiano, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne), the pure INESTINGUIBILE Chardonnay IGT, as well as two sparkling wines: DISCORSI Brut and SENZA DISCORSI Brut Rosé.
