About the Winery
At Terra Rosa, slow living is not just a concept, but a lifestyle choice. It’s about fostering deeper connections with loved ones, nature, and oneself, while embracing a more mindful and relaxed pace of life. Whether it’s taking a leisurely walk through the vineyards, reading by the Neiva River, enjoying a quiet lunch, or simply breathing in the serene atmosphere of the estate, every moment at Terra Rosa is an opportunity to rediscover tranquility.
Here, the philosophy of life extends beyond nature to food and its origins, emphasizing the importance of understanding where it comes from, who cultivates it, and how it is prepared. The décor is inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi, celebrating the beauty in imperfection, simplicity, and the natural aging process. Every piece of furniture and décor tells a story, chosen with care and respect for the past.
Set in the historic Quinta de Codeçosa, a family estate dating back to 1758, Terra Rosa spans 70 hectares, including 50 hectares of vineyards. The estate is rich in heritage, with traditional houses, a chapel, a granary, a pigeon loft, and scenic stone tanks, all accessed by a stunning cypress-lined entrance. The vineyards are meticulously managed, while the Neiva River flows through the estate, powering ancient mills and irrigating the fields.
The estate’s main buildings form a charming village-like square. The houses, including Casa do Lúpulo and Casa das Colheitas, have been restored to maintain their historical integrity. Casa do Lúpulo offers seven rooms, including three suites, and features a large living and dining space, while Casa das Colheitas serves as a venue for wine tastings, workshops, and special events like weddings and team-building activities. A generous outdoor swimming pool heated to 30 degrees enhances the estate’s luxurious offerings.
The vision for Terra Rosa began in 2017 as a father-daughter project, born from the desire to share the beauty of Quinta de Codeçosa. Francisco Rosa, with his long-standing dedication to the vineyards, and Eliana Rosa, who led the restoration and design, have created a space where guests can experience both the historic charm and the modern comforts of agritourism.
This harmonious blend of history, sustainability, and slow living is at the heart of Terra Rosa, inviting guests to create lasting memories in a unique and peaceful setting.
About the Wines
Quinta de Codeçosa, a historic estate renowned for its deep connection to viticulture, produces approximately 700 tons of grapes each year, primarily from the Loureiro and Vinhão varieties. This substantial yield results in about 1,000 barrels of wine, which are supplied to the Ponte de Lima Cooperative Winery, where the grapes are transformed into distinguished Vinho Verde.
Covering 70 hectares, with 50 hectares devoted to vineyards, Quinta de Codeçosa holds the distinction of being the largest supplier to the Adega Cooperativa de Ponte de Lima. The estate prioritizes the conservation of natural resources, fostering biodiversity, and maintaining a balanced ecosystem. Special attention is given to preserving soil health, ensuring sustainable agricultural practices, and promoting animal welfare.
Managed under integrated production principles, the vineyards employ sustainable techniques that safeguard the environment while ensuring long-term productivity. Francisco Rosa's expertise in vineyard management and commitment to sustainability have been instrumental in the estate's prominence as a leading Vinho Verde producer for the Ponte Lima Cooperative Winery.
