In 1974, João António Cerdeira and his parents decided to break from the traditional method of planting grapevines around the outskirts of a parcel and instead planted an entire vineyard dedicated to Alvarinho. This pioneering move established the family as a key contributor to the development of Alvarinho wine in the region. Today, the third generation of the family — siblings Maria João and António Luís — continues to embrace this spirit of innovation. Maria João, a veterinarian, has successfully introduced organic farming practices, while António Luís, an oenologist, has further developed the family's deep understanding of the Alvarinho grape. The family’s commitment to sustainability also includes the revitalization of the surrounding rural area, with investments in wine tourism and the recent addition of herbal tea production to their offerings. Quinta de Soalheiro remains a leading example of innovation in viticulture, blending tradition with forward-thinking approaches.

Quinta do Paço de Calheiros is a stunning 17th-century estate located on a hillside with breathtaking views of Ponte de Lima and the surrounding vineyards. Owned by the Count of Calheiros, the property features beautiful gardens, a swimming pool, tennis courts, orchards, and a chestnut forest. The estate also serves as a guest house with rooms furnished in period style. The vineyards are meticulously managed, while the Neiva River flows through the estate, powering ancient mills and irrigating the fields. The estate’s main buildings form a charming village-like square. The houses, including Casa do Lúpulo and Casa das Colheitas, have been restored to maintain their historical integrity. Casa do Lúpulo offers seven rooms, including three suites, and features a large living and dining space, while Casa das Colheitas serves as a venue for wine tastings, workshops, and special events like weddings and team-building activities. A generous outdoor swimming pool heated to 30 degrees enhances the estate’s luxurious offerings. The vision for Terra Rosa began in 2017 as a father-daughter project, born from the desire to share the beauty of Quinta de Codeçosa. Francisco Rosa, with his long-standing dedication to the vineyards, and Eliana Rosa, who led the restoration and design, have created a space where guests can experience both the historic charm and the modern comforts of agritourism. Wines produced exclusively from grapes grown organically on our own state, are based on the philosophy of our production and that translates into focus more attention and energy on the vine, thereby producing grapes of high quality and excellence for which, in this way, we achieve unique wines of "terroir", with great personality and character. For us, a great wine should always express a sense of place ... Since the beginning of the project, the ever-present spirit, was the creation and specialization in new and different wines made with this noble grape, and today we can clearly say that the Ameal bucked the Loureiro on a map of top wines production in Portugal, because our wines, are regularly considered by the most respected national and foreign critics, among the best white wines in the country. Exported to more than 15 countries, Ameal is on many of the best and most demanding restaurants wine lists in the world, as well as some of the most prestigious shops. In 2014, Quinta do Ameal open his brand new Wine & Tourism Terroir project with the same philosophy of quality loyalty and diferenciation.
