The practice of cultivating wines on the hillside surrounding Thurnhof is centuries old – in former times monks used to pray for rich harvests and have the grapes vinified for their monasteries. True to this tradition, we produce deep going high-class wines.

Thurnhof is an estate situated in Bolzano's district of Haslach, about 1.5 km outside the old town, spreading its vineyards on the history-charged area on the foot of the Virgl Mountain. Until recently, the surroundings of Thurnhof marked a quiet, picturesque region, that centuries ago gave birth to wines for the nobility and the clergy. Nowadays, Thurnhof is a green island in a wide sea of houses and a vineyard, that allows its owner and enologist Andreas Berger, with much effort, heart and expertise, the creation of subtle wines.
