About Winery and Wines

Viñedos y Bodegas Muñoz, is a winery of lengthy family tradition which, however, has adapted to new times, becoming a benchmark amongst the modern wineries of La Mancha. Bienvenido Muñoz Pollo, agronomist and master in oenology and vine-growing heads up the management of this winery, which has focussed its production on quality wines, under D.O. La Mancha and V.T.Castilla. The qualities of the vineyard itself, together with the modern production facilities, ageing, bottling and storage, as well as the implementation of systems of quality, all combine to make the perfect ensemble for the achievement of an end product to suit the most demanding of palates. Currently, Viñedos y Bodegas Muñoz distributes its wines in over thirty countries. Recognition of the quality of the wines produced by Viñedos y Bodegas Muñoz is demonstrable by the numerous awards obtained at both national and international competitions.

The land is characterised by being flat and without any great peaks, the soil is shallow and its composition is of calcareous-clay. The climate is continental, with notable changes of temperature, cold winters and hot summers. The scarce rainfall is another of the principal characteristics which, together with the almost 3000 annual hours of sunshine, help to produce wines with their very own personality. These soils provide scant yield, apart from grapes capable of producing extraordinarily concentrated and aromatic wines.
