Vinag 1847 is a historic winery located beneath the heart of Maribor, Slovenia, where centuries-old tradition meets modern winemaking. Vinag 1847 produces a diverse array of wines, each embodying the rich heritage and innovative spirit of the Štajerska region. The first line, Mariborčan/Mariborčanka, is a tribute to the city of Maribor, featuring a blend of local varieties ideal for enjoying in the traditional "Špric" style—half wine, half sparkling water. The #23 line, named for the 23 steps down to the cellar, is designed for millennials and those seeking fresh, aromatic wines. This line includes a dry Sauvignon Blanc with notes of white peach, a dry Chardonnay with ripe apple aromas, a semi-dry Rosé from Pinot Noir with raspberry hints, and a semi-sweet Rumeni Muscat, celebrated for its tropical and floral bouquet. The Sauvignon Blanc from this line won a platinum medal at the 2023 Great American Competition in New York.

The Kriehuber line features sparkling wines made using the traditional method, with the second fermentation occurring in the cool, ancient tunnels of the Maribor cellar. Highlights include a Chardonnay Brut, which won top honors at the 2022 Glass of Bubbly competition in London and was named the best aperitif sparkling wine in Slovenia in 2023. The line also includes a Sec version and a Rosé blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

This exclusive collection features an oak-aged Pinot Noir with ripe red fruit notes, an oak-aged Sauvignon Blanc with intense melon flavors, and upcoming releases including an orange wine from Italian Riesling and a Rhine Riesling aged in stainless steel tanks.
