Hiking, Lunch & Wine Tasting at Castello Monterinaldi in Chianti Classico

Your experience at Castello di Monterinaldi begins with a guided hike through the vineyards, ancient olive groves, and rolling hills of Chianti Classico – the landscapes that define this celebrated Tuscan wine region. A specialized environmental guide who accompanies you during this walk will explain the area’s natural features, rich biodiversity, and agricultural traditions. 

The visit continues with a guided tour of the historic Monterinaldi cellar. Guided by a member of the estate’s hospitality team, you’ll explore the estate’s organic winemaking process and the philosophy that shapes their Chianti Classico wines.

The experience concludes inside the 19th-century Villa Pesanella, where the estate's chef prepares a traditional four-course Tuscan lunch. The menu changes with the seasons, but a typical meal includes an appetizer, first course, main course with a side, and dessert. You might be served a Tuscan appetizer with local cold cuts and cheeses (such as prosciutto, salami, finocchiona, and pecorino), fresh egg tagliatelle with beef ragù, and an orange cake made with the estate's extra virgin olive oil.

Each course is paired with Castello di Monterinaldi's organic wines. The selection varies but typically includes a Brut rosé sparkling wine, a Sangiovese and Merlot IGT, a Chianti Classico DOCG, and a Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG. For younger participants, the estate provides its own organic grape juice and a special menu.
