Full-Day E-Bike Wine Tour from Chinon to Saumur
Here is what's in store for you
Starting from Chinon, follow the cycling path along the Vienne River, riding through beautiful countryside for about 45 minutes. Upon arrival in Candes-Saint-Martin, reach a panoramic viewpoint and admire the spectacular confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers. Stop at the Basilica of Saint-Martin and take time to enjoy the charm of this picturesque village before continuing to Montsoreau and its stunning castle overlooking the Loire River.
From there, cycle uphill toward the hillside vineyards of the Saumur-Champigny appellation, riding through the vines and stopping at outstanding wineries to taste local wines made from the famous Cabernet Franc and Chenin Blanc grapes. After the first winery visits, enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch on the banks of the Loire.
Back on the cycling path, discover the troglodyte villages of Turquant and Souzay-Champigny, followed by additional winery visits and tastings. Upon reaching the world-famous Château de Saumur, take in its breathtaking panoramic views over the city before boarding a short 10-minute shuttle to Bouvet Ladubay, a renowned sparkling wine house.
Here, enjoy a unique experience on vintage bikes. Equipped with headlamps, follow your guide through the underground galleries to conclude this unforgettable wine cycling adventure. Finally, a 40-minute shuttle will take you back to the starting point in Chinon.
