Chianti Classico wine tasting at Tenuta Folonari

In Greve in Chianti, on the northern side of the Chianti Classico territory, Tenuta di Nozzole is the setting for a tasting focused on three expressions of Sangiovese. A member of the Folonari hospitality team will welcome you to the estate. Your visit begins with a tour through the barrel room and continues to the collection where the historic Folonari labels, from 1980 onwards, are preserved.

The experience then moves to the wine shop's tasting room. Here you will taste three red Chianti Classico wines from Tenuta di Nozzole, all made from Sangiovese but with distinct identities. The Nozzole Chianti Classico DOCG is the estate's modern expression of pure Sangiovese, with a bright, fruity character. La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG, produced since 1980, offers the deeper character of the estate's historic Riserva.

Finally, the Giovanni Folonari Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG represents a more traditional expression, matured in large oak barrels. Alongside the wines, you will taste the estate's extra virgin olive oil on toasted bread and a local pecorino cheese, showing how one grape can take on three different personalities within Chianti Classico.
