Truffle Hunt, Cooking Class & Lunch with Wine Tasting at Poggio ai Laghi in Monteriggioni

Your experience at Poggio ai Laghi begins in the estate's woods, where you'll join an expert truffle hunter and his dog. You will learn about this ancient tradition, the secrets of the search, and the bond between the hunter and his animal. After the hunt, you'll move to the kitchen for a hands-on cooking class with the estate's chef. Using the truffles you just found, the chef will guide you through the preparation of traditional Tuscan dishes, showing you how to enhance simple recipes with their distinct aroma.

The class is followed by a full Tuscan lunch in the barrel rooms, where you'll eat the dishes you helped prepare. The menu includes truffle crostini, fresh pasta with truffle, sliced beef with truffle shavings and roasted potatoes, and a dessert of cantuccini with Vin Santo. A sommelier will lead you through the meal, presenting the story of Countess Ava and pairing each course with the estate's wines. The tasting includes eight labels: the sparkling Arella and Firmina Rosé; three Chianti expressions, Lucilla Classico, Oletta Riserva, and Nina Classico Riserva; two Supertuscans, Aranda and Donna Ava; and the white Arania Toscana IGT. The experience concludes with a tasting of the estate's extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars.

The truffle hunt is available practically all year round; if there are periods when the hunt cannot take place, the dates are closed in the calendar. The cooking class is easy and suitable for everyone, with no previous cooking experience needed. The 16:00 departure can be enjoyed as an early dinner with the same menu.
