Uncomfortable atmosphere and average wines

We stopped in on a whim. Definitely the best wine tasting experience of our trip. The Malherbes are fantastic hosts and showed remarkable hospitality to all the guests that we saw come and go. Where else do you get personal attention for the winemakers! Great wine as well!

Superb experience at this small family winery. Great attention, genuinely felt welcome. Quite the opposite of the larger, commercial wineries.

Rickety Bridge is a long established winery in Franschhoek. An absolute idyllic gem if coming from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town. Wine tasting in their tasting rooms is included in your stay, as is breakfast! Staff are extremely helpful and my wife and I couldn't have wished for a more perfect weekend. Would I come back? Absolutely, in a shot!

Good place, much bigger then other tasting venues

Relaxed wine tasting with friendly, knowledgable hostess, Jessica. We enjoyed the wines and the views. Beautiful estate.

Terrible place. Arrived to dark reception. Electricity went out. Owner was unapologetic.How do you get a gin and tonic so wrong;useless maitr 'd bought 5 of them and we'd asked for 3 a beer and a red wine. The gin was overwhelmed in tonic. Ordered and waited and waited. It wasn't full by any means so that can't be used as an excuse. The table next to us got served before us. Excuses were then tripped out. A manager arrived and she just rolled out the most awful justification. I ordered Kingklip it was undercooked when it did arrive. We wanted another bottle of a white sauvignon we had enjoyed and they were out of sauvignon. WHAT !!! Paid the full ammount despite going home hungry. not one of the 5 of us had eaten our meal. No proper apology. No apology at all. It seemed to be run by amateurs. I was married at The Steenberg 4 days before what a difference. It was as if we were in a different country. Feb 2016
