The Cirulli family has been winemakers since 1861, a year when Valentino's great grandfather purchased a plot of land in Abruzzo, the region where the family comes from. Those were years when agriculture was a means of living for sustaining the family. A small trade of wine and olive oil was conducted; this was the beginning of the Cirullis' Wineries business. Since then the family dedicated their life to the art of making wine, with great attention to the terror and with passion and care for the environment. In 2007 the winery in Ficulle was inaugurated, in one of the most beautiful places in Umbria, where grapes were grown since the Etruscan and the Romans times. The Cirullis' Wineries is a property of 75 hectares on 200/350 meters above the sea level, 50 of which are dedicated to the grapes . Together with the traditional Umbrian grapes such as Grechetto, Trebbiano e Malvasia, there are also the international grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Traminer are grown. The key to the success of our wines is the terroir together with the advanced enological techniques. Guided by Marco Simonit and Pierpaolo Sirch with a desire to respect the nature and adopt it to the modern needs in 2008 Valentino Cirulli was named one of the most significant pruning experts in Italy. He is also one of the first winemakers in Italy who understood the importance of this approach and adopted the "Simonit&Sirch" techniques in his vineyards.
