Über das Weingut und die Weine

The Canoso family has always believed in the quality of the wine produced on the hills of Monteforte d'Alpone. In fact, since 1876 they have cultivated gardens and vineyards here, selling the wine in bulk to markets in northern Italy. Our production of about 70,000 bottles per year is characterised by the combination of the value of tradition and the quality guarantee of state-of-the-art equipment. In each production step, from the vineyard to the bottle, we pay great attention and, as we do not use products of animal origin, in 2018 we obtained Vegan certification from V Label. The maturation of our red wines includes passages in barriques, French tonneaux and large Slavonian barrels to give elegance to the tannins.

Today the company works 12 hectares in the hills (between 90m and 290m) in different plots, mostly facing south-east. Among these, the Cà del vento vineyard, which surrounds the winery, obtained Cru recognition in 2019 and is the exclusive property of the Canoso winery. It mainly grows Garganega and Trebbiano, as well as Incrocio Manzoni, an increasingly popular variety that Canoso has been interpreting for several years now with its Bianco Veronese. The vineyards are between 20 and 45 years old, with the guyot system gradually replacing the traditional Veronese pergola, reducing production but improving quality. Most of the operations in the vineyard, including harvesting, are carried out by hand.
