Impressive wines and delicious food!

The experience started with a selection of local products to savor with 4 selected wines. The setting is relaxing and beautiful and the staff is very attentive. It was very interesting to see where the grapes are pressed and to follow the process along until the bottling process. Very pleasant way to spend some time. Would definitely recommend.

Esperienza unica e consigliatissima

2007 officially marks the date of birth of the Gigliotto Tenute winery, a 6,000 square meter structure built and designed with natural materials, wood and stone, in order to guarantee its insulation. In 2016, with the certification of the organic winery, the entire production chain is completed. It is equipped with an innovative thermoregulation system of temperatures and modern oenological equipment, which allow the processing of wine in the most natural way possible, thus ensuring higher quality to the final product. In the underground area of the cellar, the barrel cellar has been created, where part of our wines is aged in French oak barriques and tonneaux and in barrels with a particular truncated conical shape in chestnut wood, as from ancient Sicilian tradition. Agriturismo: Located in the heart of Sicily thanks to the wide availability of spaces, both internal and external, the Gigliotto, is ideal location for every form of event, from the most classic and formal to the most dynamically evolved. The 26 rooms of the Gigliotto are all furnished in Sicilian style, equipped with all comforts and enjoy a wonderful view of the Sicilian countryside. The structure, open 365 days a year, offers the possibility to enjoy stays in bed and breakfast, half board and full board, savoring typical Sicilian recipes and using always fresh farm products and respecting the seasonality. The restaurant has 250 seats inside and 200 seats outside on the panoramic terrace, and the structure also offers 2 meeting rooms. Walks through the vineyards, guided tour of the company activities and the winery, are prestigious and unique experiences that can be organized inside the living room at Gigliotto, using the 12 prestigious labels that the company Gigliotto Tenute produces. The cellar of about 6000 square meters is equipped with the most modern techniques of production and aging wine.

The first wines to be bottled in our cellar were Nero d'Avola, Vossìa, Venere, Conte Ruggero and Kanzir. Then the San Michele, the Patrisanto, the Rossomanno and La Ginestra. The wines produced are in purity and the names of the labels are strictly linked to our territory. In 2017 he was born “Decimo” which in addition to being the first company blend (nero d'avolafrappato) is also the first certified organic wine. 2018 marks the birth of two particular wines: Donnacristina and Dongiovanni. The Vineyards: Twenty hectares of vineyards were planted in sandy soils wth clayey substrates of Gigliotto Tenute. All the vineyards have a southern exposure at an altitude of about 400 m above sea level and with a strong influence of the winds that come from the Mediterranean Sea, which is just a few kilometers as the crow flies. The vineyards are all planted in espaliers with an average density of about 5,000 vines per hectare and trained in guyot. This technique allows each year to have a production of the fruit from new shoots, which ensures a longer life span of the vineyard and a better quality of the grapes. In 2004 the Nero d'Avola, the Chardonnay and the Petit Verdot were planted. Later in 2007, varieties of Merlot, Pinot Nero, Frappato and Zibibbo were planted. The philosophy of Gigliotto Tenute since birth is respect for nature and the environment. The company has been in organic farming for over twenty years.
