Your experience at Quinta d'Amares begins with a welcome from one of the estate's wine experts. Your guide will introduce you to the history of the property, its connection to the Monastery of Santo André de Rendufe, its vineyards, and its wines.
The tasting takes place in a restored granite granary, a traditional structure raised on stilts that has been converted into a modern tasting center. Here, you'll enjoy a guided tasting of five wines, each showcasing the estate's principal white grape varieties: Loureiro, Alvarinho, and Arinto. You will explore a range of styles, from light, slightly effervescent Vinho Verde to more complex, barrel-aged expressions.
To accompany the wines, you'll be served crackers and Queijo de São Miguel, a protected designation of origin cheese from the Azores. This cow's milk cheese, aged for at least six months, offers a firm texture and a flavor profile that complements the different wine styles.
