Castello di Amorosa
À propos du Domaine
Castello di Amorosa is a unique winery located in Napa Valley, California, built as an authentic medieval-style castle inspired by Italian architecture. The estate was founded by Dario Sattui, who transformed his long-standing passion for Italian history and architecture into a remarkable project spanning nearly two decades.
Set on 170 acres of hills, forests, and vineyards near Calistoga, the castle was meticulously designed to replicate a true 13th-century Tuscan fortress, complete with towers, courtyards, a great hall, chapel, and even underground tunnels. More than just a winery, Castello di Amorosa offers an immersive experience where history, architecture, and wine come together.
The estate is also committed to sustainability and is a Certified Napa Green winery, reflecting a modern approach to environmental responsibility alongside its historical inspiration.
À propos des Vins
Castello di Amorosa produces wines inspired by Italian tradition, while fully expressing the richness of California terroir.
The vineyards include estate-grown grapes in the Diamond Mountain District (Napa Valley), as well as fruit sourced from Carneros and Anderson Valley, ideal for cooler-climate white wines. The main varieties include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Primitivo, along with a selection of white grape varieties.
The wines are crafted to balance Old World style with New World expression—structured, elegant, and food-friendly, yet rich and approachable. Red wines tend to be bold and complex, while whites benefit from freshness and aromatic clarity.
Overall, Castello di Amorosa wines reflect both the winery’s Italian inspiration and Napa Valley’s exceptional growing conditions, offering a diverse and high-quality portfolio.
