À propos du vignoble et des vins
We, Jonathan Hesford and Rachel Treloar, founded this 10ha estate in 2006 in Trouillas which is situated in the Aspres hills of the Roussillon, considered by many to be France's most exciting wine region.
Here in the Occitanie we bring together a passion for great wine, new world innovation and the wonderful local terroir.
Our path was rather unusual. We lived and worked within 500m of the Twin Towers on September 11 2001 and experiencing that event made us rethink our life and provided the catalyst to make our dream a reality.
The cave is in an historic stone building featuring old winemaking equipment and all the vineyards are within a kilometre.
Employing ecological practices in the vineyards and low-intervention winemaking, we hand-craft a range of interesting and impressive wines from local grape vareities. We make a range of white, red and some limited edition wines using experimental techniques.
Our aim is to make the best wines possible from every vintage. Jancis Robinson consistently includes us in her top five Roussillon producers and they have also received much praise from The Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator and Revue du Vin de France.
Production is limited to 35 000 bottles per year. 65% are exported. Our emphasis is on retaining freshness, achieving balance and producing wines that age well for many years.
