Prosecco Superiore Tasting & Food Pairing at Fasol Menin in Valdobbiadene
Here is what's in store for you
Your experience at Fasol Menin begins near the vineyards of Valdobbiadene, where a trained host from the team will introduce you to the work that defines each season. You will then move into the production area to understand the winemaking process. Should the weather be poor, this part of the tour moves indoors, where soil samples and other materials ensure the explanation is just as complete.
The tasting takes place on the winery's covered porch, which overlooks the vineyards and the old family village. The space can be fully enclosed with transparent curtains, preserving the view in any weather. Depending on the day's conditions, a separate indoor tasting room may also be used.
You will taste the four sparkling wines produced by Fasol Menin: the Perlo Extra Brut, the Cama Brut, the Leonte Extra Dry, and the Raff, a Vino sui Lieviti (on the lees).
Each glass is served with its own savory or sweet finger food, made in-house and changing with the seasons. Pairings can include Asiago DOP cheese with local sopressa, vegetable tarts, artisan grissini, and the winery's own preserves, pickles, and mostarda.

Exhaustive explanation
Our tasting didn't include Cartizze (it was a gift from friends) and when it was served to the others at the end and not to us, I didn't feel very comfortable. They could have suggested at the entrance if we wanted to upgrade by also purchasing the Cartizze, given that the others were going to taste it. Or they could figure out another way not to make those who purchased only part of the tasting feel excluded.
Great experience
Our favorites were the Perlo and the 1798
