Discover Carmignano, the smallest wine area in Tuscany, with this wine tour! Here the French Cabernet Sauvignon, introduced in the region by the Medici family centuries ago, is nowadays part of every blend.
Gain in-depth knowledge about a well-reputed and historical wine area, which can be shortly regarded as small but mighty, thanks to this half-day tour. Wine has been produced in the Carmignano region since Roman times. During the Middle Ages, the area was widely reputed for the quality of its wines. The reputation of Carmignano continued to grow with Queen Anne of Great Britain requesting regular shipments of the wine.
With this tour, you will visit two wineries where you’ll receive tips about the art of wine tasting and wine & food pairing. You will have the opportunity to tour the vineyards and wine cellars in the heart of Carmignano, giving an up-close look at the production and aging process of the wines. Additionally, you will learn about the secrets of extra virgin olive oil making.
This wonderful experience includes wine tastings of a large range of wines, a tasty typical Tuscan lunch prepared with local products, and the opportunity to buy some of the best Tuscan wines.
