Cantina e Vini

Our history originates from the deep-rooted passion for winemaking that has spanned three generations.

Driven by this unbreakable bond between father and son, Cantine Artese was established in 2009 by Antonio Artese. Despite its relatively recent inception, our winery embodies years of experience, nurtured love for nature, vines, and the land. It all began with Gregorio Artese, who, since the 1950s, meticulously cared for a small vineyard alongside other agricultural endeavors.

This unwavering commitment soon transformed into an insatiable passion, instilled in his son Antonio. Thus, Cantine Artese was born, standing today as a thriving winemaking reality. Our vision extends beyond the confines of a mere business venture, encompassing lived experiences, continuous evolution, and a shared dream cherished by Gregorio, Antonio, and now, by their children: to showcase the essence of our territory through the exceptional quality of our wines.

The logo of our brand features a symbolic representation of the sun and sail, which holds a significant historical connection.

Historically, the sun embodies the agricultural heritage of Zambrone, originally a farming community. Porto Salvo, once a thriving center of agricultural economy, served as a hub for labor-seeking inhabitants from nearby towns.

The sail carries equal importance as a symbol of the sea. Legend has it that Porto Salvo originated near a magnificent ancient port, now reduced to remnants in Trainìti. Sailors seeking refuge and solace in a pre-existing church played a pivotal role in shaping the town, finding respite during their maritime expeditions.

The sail is also intertwined with Zambrone's identity, currently renowned as a sought-after tourist destination boasting pristine waters. Historically, it symbolizes the sea as a nexus for cultural exchange, diverse populations, and rich traditions, while also witnessing pirate raids and Saracen invasions.

Our wine production process spans across Zambrone and Porto Salvo, nestled along the captivating Tyrrhenian Sea, adorning the enchanting Coast of the Gods, known as the Costa Bella. Our wines proudly bear the Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) Calabria designation.
