Castelfalfi, a Tuscan dream where time stands still. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany – one of the most famous regions in Italy, renowned for its beauty, art, and culinary traditions – Castelfalfi emerges with its medieval village and enchanting landscape dotted with vineyards and olive groves. Amidst this terrain, the Castelfalfi agricultural estate embodies the ancient notion of inseparable harmony between nature and agriculture, tradition and innovation, passion and experience.

Spanning the Etruscans to the Romans, the Lombards to the Medici, the history of Castelfalfi has its roots firmly planted in centuries of history. The earliest verifiable records about Castelfalfi – named Castrum Faolfi after its Lombard founder King Faolfo – date back to a document from 754 AD. Since then, across countless generations, its inhabitants have nurtured the vines and olive trees that continue to grace the slopes of the Borgo.

Immersed in a natural setting of 2,700 acres of woodland, turkey oak trees, and small pools of water, Castelfalfi agricultural estate seamlessly blends with traditional olive groves and vineyards, in perfect harmony with the landscape. At the heart of our sustainable agricultural practices lies our commitment to protecting the environment, biodiversity, and ecosystems. In this unspoiled realm, we take care of 61 acres of vineyards, nearly 100 acres of olive groves, and a good amount of arable land that varies from year to year based on our needs. Through conscious efforts guided by dedication and adherence to organic farming principles, we produce premium products, such as aromatic extra virgin olive oil, fine wines, wildflower honey, and liqueurs.

Nestled between the provinces of Florence and Pisa, at altitudes reaching up to 350 meters above sea level, 61 acres of vineyards yield produce that embodies the rich history and uniqueness of the local land. A respect for our vineyards, coupled with a commitment to enhance the diversity of each plot, have steered us towards an organic approach as the basis for thoughtful and sustainable agriculture. This ethos revolves around preserving the environment and minimizing human intervention, ensuring the natural characteristics of our grapes are safeguarded, thereby enhancing the character of our wines. In our cellar and barrel room, we vinify and separately age our grapes to achieve the perfect balance.

In the present historical and cultural context, Castelfalfi’s wines are born from 25 hectares of vineyards where native (Sangiovese, Vermentino, Trebbiano, Malvasia, Colombana) and international (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah) grape varieties coexist in harmony. Our commitment to respecting our vineyards and our dedication to enhancing the diversity of each plot have shaped our foundation in organic practices, reflecting a mindful and sustainable approach to agriculture. In our cellar and barrel room, each grape variety is vinified and aged separately to allow the unique properties of the terroir to shine, ultimately allowing our wines to achieve the perfect balance.
