Our winery covers 21 hectares, 15 of which are planted with vines from which we produce about 10,000 bottles a year. Our vineyards are located in San Pancrazio Salentino, a few kilometers from the sea of Torre Lapillo, in the Salice Salentino DOC territory, known for its strong wine vocation.
The particular pedoclimatic conditions are given by the proximity to the sea, the presence of constant wind and breezes and a large temperature range between day and night. In addition, our area has a dry climate with very little rainfall during the grape ripening period. The soils are deep and perfectly drained. All factors that give our wines great structure and opulence. The tradition of the simple and wise gestures of farmers that have been handed down for generations have made our territory among the most renowned for the cultivation of important grape varieties such as Negroamaro, Primitivo, Fiano and Susumaniello.
Funiati is a family-run farm, active for three generations in viticulture and production of high quality wines.
