La Montina has deep historical roots dating back to 1620, when Benedetto Montini—ancestor of Pope Paul VI—built what is now known as Villa Baiana. The modern winery began in 1982, when the Bozza family acquired the estate. The three brothers, Vittorio, Gian Carlo, and Alberto, carried forward their winemaking tradition by developing an impressive underground winery, created between 1986 and 2007 by removing around 85,000 cubic metres of hillside to build a 7,500 m² facility.

Located in Monticelli Brusati, in the northeastern part of Franciacorta (province of Brescia), the estate benefits from a unique microclimate shaped by a natural morainic amphitheatre and the proximity to Lake Iseo. This environment provides ideal conditions for vine cultivation. Today, La Montina is one of the most representative producers of Franciacorta DOCG, with an annual production of around 400,000 bottles. The estate also includes Villa Baiana for events, a congress center, and the “Remo Bianco” Museum of Contemporary Art. The new generation, Michele and Daniele, continues the family legacy with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

La Montina is entirely dedicated to the production of Franciacorta DOCG, following some of the strictest regulations in the world for the traditional (Classic) method. The winery uses mainly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and stands out for still employing a Marmonier vertical press, allowing for very gentle pressing and high-quality must.

The range includes a wide selection of Franciacorta styles, such as Extra Brut, Brut, Rosé Demi Sec, Satèn, and Millesimato versions, as well as the prestigious Riserva Baiana Pas Dosé. These wines are known for their elegance, fine perlage, and balance, expressing the unique terroir of Franciacorta.

In addition to sparkling wines, the estate also produces still wines such as Rosso dei Dossi, Bianco Palanca, and Bianco Rubinia, further showcasing the versatility and quality of the territory.
