La Cantina

Con oltre 200 anni di storia, Quinta da Portela de Baixo si trova nella regione del Douro, nella città monumentale di Lamego. È una proprietà familiare con 15 ettari di vigneti, edifici tradizionali in granito, viste aperte e splendidi giardini.

La visita e la degustazione di vini sono un'esperienza rilassante, con un'atmosfera tradizionale del Douro e uno staff accogliente.

I Vini

I vini offerti provengono da Quinta da Portela e Quinta da Soveral.

Dalla Quinta da Portela de Baixo, che si trova a un'altitudine di oltre 500 metri e con un terreno granitico, provengono il Pinot Noir frizzante e i vini bianchi ottenuti dalle varietà di uve Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Arinto, Viosinho e Rabigato.

Dalla Quinta da Soveral, che inizia a 300 metri di altitudine e si estende fino al fiume, provengono il vino rosso Reserva ottenuto dalle varietà Touriga Nacional e Sousão (Medaglia d'Oro CMB 2024) e i vini Porto, con particolare attenzione al Porto Vintage.

Fantastic relaxed winery hospitality

Big thanks to the folks at Quinta da Portela who were both friendly and knowledgeable. We were walked through the onsite museum and learned about the multi-generation history of this winery; interesting to see artifacts of the wine business and how equipment has changed across the decades. The great pleasure of our visit was a wonderfully relaxed and leisurely seated tour of their sparkling, still and fortified wines as well as their olive oil. These were deftly accompanied by delicious local food products both savoury and sweet on their hilltop outdoor patio. Highly recommended!

Wine tasting

We were at a wine tasting experience in August, and it was amazing. The lady who guided us was very friendly, funny, and her knowledge about the winery and Port wine was outstanding. The winery itself is beautiful. We had the opportunity to try six different types of wine (with snacks). I strongly recommend this place and the tour. We even bought a bottle to remember this experience.
