Meet the Winegrowers: Guided Vineyard Tour & Exclusive Wine Tasting at Villa Seara

Discover the land, terroir, and wines of Villa Seara, a young project rooted in the rural village of Basto. Accompanied by the producers, Martin and Sofia, you will visit the vineyards and gain a complete understanding of their organic farming philosophy, the chosen grape varieties, the soil characteristics, and the local climate that defines their wines.

The visit concludes with a tasting of three wines, offering a sensory journey into the factors that shape Villa Seara’s unique expression.

The wine tasting takes place in the charming setting of the old village primary school, now home to Burra Velha by Villa Seara. Here, you’ll learn more about Vinho Verde, the Minho region, Basto, and of course, Villa Seara itself.

While enjoying some homemade snacks, Martin and Sofia will guide you through their low-intervention wines:

The Villa Seara Blend, made from Arinto, Avesso, and Alvarinho, showcases the versatility of the local terroir. The Padeiro, a native grape variety, reveals how a rosé can have remarkable aging potential and how it can also produce elegant, serious red wines.

After the tasting, take a moment to relax, enjoy the view, and explore the historic school building, now transformed into a symbol of the region’s winemaking revival.
