The Decrù winery has been producing their unique vintages since the early 1900s, when Bonaudo Firmino and his father first began cultivating the terraced vineyards near Condove, which sit 800 meters above sea level. Despite devastating phylloxera infestations in the early 1900s and subsequent replantings in 1970 and 2000, the hardworking vintners have remained resilient and dedicated to keeping the method of cultivation alive. All vines can only be accessed via mule track or transport by wheelbarrow, and the planting and processing are done by hand.
