Rioja wine tour: winery and visit to Laguardia from San Sebastian

Experience a wine day trip to La Rioja from San Sebastian, combining premium wines, scenic vineyards, modern architecture, and the medieval charm of Laguardia.

We will travel in private transport to a modern winery in La Rioja, seamlessly set within the surrounding vineyards and designed to offer a visually engaging and comprehensive visit. During the guided tour, lasting about 1 hour and 30 minutes, you’ll learn about the winemaking process from the vineyard to the aging cellar. The visit ends with a tasting of two wines (a barrel-fermented white and a premium red) paired with two gourmet tapas. To ensure comfort, winery visits are organized in separate language groups (Spanish or English).

Afterwards, we will stop at the Marques de Riscal viewpoint to admire the winery from the outside and take photos of this iconic example of contemporary architecture in Rioja Alavesa.

Next, we will head to Laguardia, a medieval walled village that has preserved its historic streets. Here, we’ll enjoy a guided walk through the cobbled streets, learning about its history and underground winemaking traditions. After the tour, you will have free time until 15:00 PM to enjoy lunch and explore the village at your own pace (lunch not included). Guests who wish can also opt to visit an underground winery in Laguardia with tasting included, payable directly on-site.
