Small-group wine tour to San Gimignano, Chianti & Montalcino from Siena

Book this full-day wine tour of Tuscany's most iconic villages and wine regions from Siena and travel into the heart of the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Visit the town of San Gimignano, the Chianti wine region, and the fortress of Montalcino.

The first part of your day will be dedicated to the Siena area. The tour starts with a visit to San Gimignano, known as the city of a hundred towers, which is also a UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site. The expert tour leader will provide you with all the information you need to enjoy your free time in the historic center of San Gimignano, where you will find local craft stores and elegant, thousand-year-old palaces. San Gimignano is also the birthplace of Vernaccia, a white wine produced exclusively here, famous for its high quality and for being the first Italian wine awarded with the DOCG appellation.

After a short visit to San Gimignano, the next stop of your tour will be at a Chianti winery, to relax and enjoy a tasting of three Chianti wines accompanied by some snacks. Here at the winery, you can enjoy a tasty Tuscan lunch of cured meats, cheeses, and other local products (not included in the tour price).

Your day will continue with a trip to Val d'Orcia, another jewel in the Tuscan territory and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004. You will reach the town of Montalcino, which from its hilltop overlooks the 1,500 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards, used to produce the elegant Brunello wine that has helped make the area world famous across the globe. The last stop of this wine tour will be at a local winery where we will taste three more wines including the famous Brunello di Montalcino, which finds its place among the top Italian DOCG wines, accompanied by more snacks like taralli or breadsticks. You will also have the opportunity to visit the winery.
