5 A most excellent wine/ port tasting experience ! (Jenny)The vineyard looked most beautiful with not only endless vine spear over the valley. The local fruit trees looked wonderful as this is a family run vineyard over many years. The place we enjoyed our 6 wine/ port tasting was wide and open with great view! The wines and ports we tasted were excellent and the portion generous as well as the plentiful nibbles accompanied with every and each wine or port. They can’t youwere both thoughtful , tasty and generous in portion. We had a most excellent time and would visit when we return in the area next !!

5 Fantastic relaxed winery hospitality (Denis)Big thanks to the folks at Quinta da Portela who were both friendly and knowledgeable. We were walked through the onsite museum and learned about the multi-generation history of this winery; interesting to see artifacts of the wine business and how equipment has changed across the decades. The great pleasure of our visit was a wonderfully relaxed and leisurely seated tour of their sparkling, still and fortified wines as well as their olive oil. These were deftly accompanied by delicious local food products both savoury and sweet on their hilltop outdoor patio. Highly recommended!

5 Wine tasting (Marta)We were at a wine tasting experience in August, and it was amazing. The lady who guided us was very friendly, funny, and her knowledge about the winery and Port wine was outstanding. The winery itself is beautiful. We had the opportunity to try six different types of wine (with snacks). I strongly recommend this place and the tour. We even bought a bottle to remember this experience.

5 Quinta Dos Avigados (Richard)We wanted to take our daughter for a wine tasting in Portugal and went to Quinta Dos Avigados. The wines (and olive oil) were wonderful. The guided tour was fantastic. It was a great time!

5 Interesting and fun afternoon (Norman)We had a great time touring the winery with our guide Nuno. He is very knowledgeable about the process of wine making and the history of the winery, and has excellent English. We arrived at the right time of year because we got to see the grapes arriving and being processed, but we also got to see the bountiful grapes on the vine, and lots of other fruits in the well maintained gardens. The tasting at the end was a generously pleasant way to round off our visit.

5 Tasting & Tour @ Quinta Dos Avidagos- Knowledgable, Friendly and Fun (George)We booked the day before and arrived on time for our tasting appointment. We were given a short tour around this traditional Quinta that dates back to the beginning of winemaking in the Douro region, with our guide explaining the production process, from picking through to bottling, and the differences between the various varietals they used and the different types of wine they produce. Our guide was knowledgable and friendly, and he answered all our questions. After the tour we went into their very nice tasting room which had great views over the vines. The tasting went through six wines and included two whites, two rosés and two reds. The prices seemed reasonable and we bought a couple of bottles to bring home. Very enjoyable visit!

5 The best tasting we have participated in (Maria)We were pleasantly surprised by this tasting, as we chose it without any references. The hostess, Cristina, was very knowledgeable and was very kind and patient, speaking slowly so that I could understand Portuguese. The place, spectacular, and the tasting, super complete, with six wines perfectly paired with a different appetizer for each one. Without a doubt, the best tasting we have participated in.
