About Winery and Wines
Anabasis was born from the dream of entrepreneur Michelangelo Alagna, who, after completing classical studies, chose to set aside his degree in archaeology to fully dedicate himself to winemaking.
The goal of Anabasis is to enhance the value of the local territory and its native grape varieties through wine, with a particular focus on traditional expressions such as Perpetuo and Marsala. The winery’s name, as well as the names of its labels, are inspired by the world of classical antiquity.
The winery produces exclusively native Sicilian wines, working to strengthen the bond with the Marsala region, where 15 hectares of estate-owned vineyards lie just a short distance from the coast. Sun, sea, hills, intense heat, and summer drought are the elements that shape the distinctive identity of Anabasis wines.
Each wine label is built around a theme from the ancient world, illustrated through carefully chosen imagery. This approach makes every tasting at Anabasis a multi-sensory experience—one that engages not only the palate but also the mind, through a meaningful connection between wine and art.
