About Winery and Wines
The Galassi Maria Organic Farm was born from the passion of Maria Galassi, daughter of a farmer, who sought to preserve her family’s deep connection to the land. Her journey took a turn from pursuing a medical degree to fully embracing the green landscapes of her family business, passed down since the late 19th century. Nestled in the pristine hills near Bertinoro, the farm is surrounded by woods and a stream, creating a natural buffer that has enabled her to cultivate using organic methods since 1994. Certified by CCPB of Bologna, Maria is driven by two fundamental principles: sustainability and conservation of the land. These values guide her commitment to organic agriculture, where the ecosystem is self-sustaining with minimal external interventions. Her father's wisdom, who taught her the patience to work with nature's rhythms, is now passed down to her son and grandchildren, continuing the family’s legacy.
Galassi Maria’s wines are the result of years of dedication to cultivating high-quality grapes grown on rich soils characterized by active limestone, yellow sands, and marine tuff. Her first wine, “natoRe,” an anagram of her father Renato's name, represents this dedication to quality and tradition. Under the guidance of young winemaker Francesco Bordini, Maria expanded her range to include other labels such as "Ca’Storta," which has been recognized by Gambero Rosso with the Bere Bene award. The careful manual harvest and meticulous attention to the vineyards have earned her wines critical acclaim, ensuring that each bottle reflects the natural richness and heritage of her land.
