About Winery and Wines
Le Masche is a young, dynamic winery established in 2007 in Levone, in the heart of the high Canavese region. Founded by Lorenzo, a passionate winemaker, Le Masche was born from his deep connection to the territory and viticulture. After completing his agricultural studies in 2013, Lorenzo took a bold step by creating his own cellar, where he oversees every stage of production, from vineyard to bottle. With a strong focus on quality, Lorenzo strives to reflect the unique characteristics of the Canavese DOC in each of his wines, showcasing the potential of the region’s vineyards. The name "Le Masche" pays homage to local history, inspired by a 1474 witch trial in Levone. Lorenzo is accompanied by a dedicated team who share his passion for viticulture, ensuring that the wines they produce embody the essence of Canavese.
Le Masche specializes in producing wines that celebrate the Canavese DOC, with Nebbiolo as their most prominent grape variety. The Nebbiolo thrives in the sandy, gravelly soils of "Gaiarda," located on the south-east side of Rivara hill, benefiting from a mild, ventilated climate that enhances the health and maturation of the grapes. The estate also cultivates Barbera, Freisa, Uva Rara, Neretto, and Chatus from historic vineyards on Rivara hill. Le Masche’s offerings include a range of unique wines such as 1474 Sparkling Classic Method Brut, Antonia Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG, Francesca Canavese Rosé DOC, Margarota Canavese Red DOC, Bonaveria Canavese Barbera DOC, and two Nebbiolo wines: Gaiarda A l’é Chièl Canavese Nebbiolo DOC and Roccia Canavese Nebbiolo DOC. Each wine is a tribute to the region’s history, terroir, and Lorenzo’s dedication to crafting high-quality wines that reflect the true spirit of Canavese.
