About Winery and Wines

The Mario Portolano company is located on the slopes of Mount Sant'Angelo in the Campi Flegrei.

The Portolano family has its historical roots in the Neapolitan area, and has a strongly entrepreneurial tradition, the company was born from love for this magical and ancient territory.

It is an estate that extends over a vineyard area of ​​approximately 5 and a half hectares, on a decidedly volcanic subsoil due to its proximity to Vesuvius; the climate is typically Mediterranean, with mild and fairly rainy winters and dry, hot summers, which are however slightly refreshed by the breeze coming from the nearby sea.

We only make wine from our own grapes grown in our vineyards, which we care for with passion in all phases of growth and transformation.

We produce 5 labels There are two DOCs from Campi Flegrei, Piedirosso and Falanghina, grown on ungrafted pre-phylloxera vines.

"Donna Teresa" is our Blend composed of 70% Piedirosso grapes 30% Aglianico grapes

"6 Pollici" is an Aglianico grown in the Campi Flegrei land, 100% Aglianico grapes which we rest for 18 months in French oak barriques before bottling.

"UBI MAIOR" is our sparkling wine made from Falanghina grapes, Classic method
