About Winery and Wines
Saccomani is a family-owned winery located in Diolo, a picturesque village near Castell'Arquato, surrounded by the historic Piacenziano Geological Zone. This unique area, rich with Mediterranean Pliocene fossils and sandy soils, provides an ideal environment for natural, organic wine production. With a deep commitment to tradition and respect for nature, Saccomani follows each step of the winemaking process, from cultivation to bottling, ensuring every wine reflects the land’s distinct characteristics and family history.
This region has been cultivating grapes for centuries, originally focused on table grapes before evolving into high-quality winemaking. Today, Saccomani proudly participates in the Vinnatur Association, which promotes authentic natural wines. Certified organic, the winery cultivates grapes without chemical intervention, preserving the surrounding biodiversity. Each bottle produced by Saccomani speaks to their passion, dedication, and the geological heritage of the Colli Piacentini, making their wines a true representation of their roots and values.
Saccomani produces natural wines through traditional bottle refermentation, without selected yeasts or additives, preserving the essence of each grape. Key varieties include Barbera and Bonarda, essential to their Gutturnio DOC, and Malvasia, used in Ortrugo DOC, Moscato, and Monterosso DOC. Innovative methods bring new expressions to the lineup, such as a passito made from Verdea grapes, typically grown as table grapes, and a sparkling rosé crafted through white vinification of Fortana grapes, all reflecting the authentic character of the Colli Piacentini.
