In years gone by, Badia a Coltibuono was a monastery providing hospitality to wayfarers. Today Coltibuono is a beautiful, historic agriturismo and offers the unique experience of a stay in one of the original rooms of this evocative monastery. Once a place of prayer and renewal, Badia a Coltibuono has embraced modern ideas of hospitality whilst preserving the historical beauty and atmosphere of this ancient monastery. Badia a Coltibuono has been making wine since the Middle Ages. For over one hundred and fifty years the farm has been run by the Stucchi Prinetti family which cultivates organic grapes in the 64 hectares of vineyard located in the heart of Chianti to produce Chianti Classico, the “super Tuscan” Sangioveto and Vin Santo del Chianti.
